Bed for sale
Hey everyone, I have an offer for anyone in the Central Florida area. Three of us just moved into a nice, 2 bedroom apartment in Lakeland, and now we have an extra bed (we're a couple plus one), and nowhere to put it. It's a twin-size bed, wood frame with two drawers underneath the mattress (you can take or leave the mattress). The frame is kind of a snap together setup, sturdy. We like the bed, but we just don't need it. We're asking $50 for it. Feel free to leave a comment or email me at email@example.com.
Thanks everyone! (Now that I'm thinking about this, I hope this is okay to post here. Let me know if it's not)
Also, if you would like to see pictures, I'll be happy to post some. Thanks!
Well, tomorrow two friends and I will be signing a year lease on our first apartment! It's a two-bed, two-bath, on the upper floor. I thought I'd join this community, and make some connections! Hopefully I'll be posting more later!
I'm Maggie Koerth-Baker, also known as marciamarcia. I'm a freelance journalist working on a story for the Associated Press about the 10 things you need to know before you rent your first apartment. I've gotten some great insights from rental experts, but I want to get a few more personal anecdotes from around the country. ( Here are the 10 things my article is covering:Collapse )
If you have renting stories/anecdotes/nightmares that relate to these topics please email me
(don't comment here). You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks a bunch.
Hm, doesn't seem like this community is very active... xD But I think it's a fantastic idea! I'm 20-year-old Orlando, FL resident and am moving into my first apartment in a little under three weeks. Obviously, I am both nervous and excited. It'll not only be affordable for me and will let me keep my dogs (which are large breeds; rare for an apartment complex)... but best of all, I will FINALLY be able to get away from my crazy mother. We are driving eachother insane
Otherwise, I'm pretty fond of interior decorating and diy-projects, so I am REALLY looking forward to that aspect. My dream is to have my home themed after world travel (okay, so I set short-term goals... sue me x3). So far, I have an Asian-themed bedroom and an African-themed bathroom (from my mother's house, the decor of which I am bringing with me since I purchased almost all of it over the years). For the living room I am considering something more broad and adventurous, like the hub of the house, with posters of old-looking maps and travel advertisement posters. Like 'Visit beautiful Maui!', etc... basically like a travel agency office xD I've also already found a lot of bargains on items that are coffee-shop themed and I think that might be a nice idea for the kitchen/dining area. I'm not sure what I'll do for the guest bathroom (which would be my future roommates'), but I think it's a toss-up between something Carribean or something frivilous, like rubber duckies. I'm preferably aiming for the former. x3
Other than that, if anyone can offer any tips... it would be great! Any of you had a sort of house-warming party? I think that may be an interesting way to get new decor and such w/o having to blow my own money on it xD I'm already good on appliances and necessities since I've been preparing for this for several months... but since this is my first place, I'd love to make it my own in the most financially wise way possible. The only things I will be leaving untouched are the two spare bedrooms that will be fare game for two of my friends (how I got stuck with a 3-bedroom is another story entirely... >___>; in the long-run, though, it did work out better).. but otherwise, the world is my canvas! :D
